Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of HelloProppy at helloproppy.com and helloproppy.co.uk (the “Platform”). The Platform is operated by HelloProppy Ltd (“HelloProppy”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17084686, with its registered office at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

By registering for an account, you agree to these Terms. Certain provisions also apply to visitors browsing the Platform without an account. Please read these Terms before using HelloProppy.

HelloProppy helps people connect around property needs and opportunities. Buyers and Tenants can create profiles describing their property requirements and circumstances. Estate agents can create professional profiles and connect with Buyers and Tenants.

Additional services, including features for property owners, may be introduced in the future. HelloProppy facilitates introductions; it does not act as an estate agent or property broker in transactions between users.

• You must be at least 18 years old to register.
• You agree to provide accurate and reasonably up-to-date information and keep your account credentials secure.
• You must complete email verification before your profile becomes publicly visible. Email verification does not constitute verification of your identity.
• You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except where that activity results from circumstances for which HelloProppy is responsible.
• You must not create an account for fraudulent, misleading or unlawful purposes.

Users are responsible for ensuring that information they submit about themselves, their property requirements, circumstances or professional services is accurate, not misleading and reasonably up to date. HelloProppy does not independently verify information submitted by users and does not guarantee its accuracy or completeness. Users should exercise their own judgement and carry out appropriate checks before entering into agreements or transactions.

Profile visibility

Buyer and Tenant profiles are publicly visible after registration and email verification, unless paused or otherwise restricted. Their personal contact details are not publicly displayed as contact fields. Agent profiles are professional profiles, and contact information provided for public display may be visible to visitors and users.

Users should not include sensitive personal information or contact details in publicly visible free-text profile fields.

HelloProppy uses “winks” to express interest in connecting. Agents may send winks to Buyers and Tenants, who may accept or decline them. When a wink is accepted, relevant contact details may be shared between those users.

Accepting a wink creates no obligation to proceed with a viewing, instruction, tenancy, purchase or other transaction. We do not guarantee that winks will be accepted, answered or lead to any transaction.

Use of contact information

Contact details obtained through HelloProppy must be used responsibly and for purposes relevant to the connection. Users must not misuse, sell or distribute another person's personal contact information or use it for unrelated marketing or unsolicited communications without an appropriate lawful basis.

You must not:

• Provide deliberately false or misleading information or impersonate another person or organisation.
• Harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse others.
• Use the Platform for fraud, unlawful activity, spam or inappropriate unsolicited communications.
• Collect or misuse personal information about other users.
• Interfere with the Platform's security or operation or circumvent its access and connection restrictions.

We may remove content or restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users, maintain the Platform or address suspected breaches of these Terms.

Certain services on HelloProppy may be subject to fees.

Where fees apply, the relevant pricing, payment arrangements, subscription conditions and any applicable cancellation terms will be clearly communicated before a user commits to a paid service.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.

HelloProppy may introduce or revise fees from time to time. Any changes affecting existing paid arrangements will be communicated in accordance with the applicable terms.

Profile pause

Buyers and Tenants may temporarily pause their profiles through account settings. Paused profiles are removed from public Browse People results and are unavailable for public viewing. Pausing does not automatically remove existing wink records or reverse contact information already shared through accepted winks. Users may reactivate their profiles.

Account deletion

Users may request account deletion through available account settings or by contacting HelloProppy. Deleting an account removes access to the account and associated profile. Some information may be retained where necessary for legal obligations, dispute resolution, prevention of misuse or appropriate business records, as explained in our Privacy and Cookies Policy.

Account deletion does not automatically erase information previously and lawfully obtained by other users. Where paid services apply, any outstanding contractual obligations are governed by the applicable paid-service terms.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary, including for material breaches of these Terms, reasonable suspicion of fraud or unlawful activity, risks to users or the Platform, or legal requirements. Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, we will provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue.

Users may stop using the Platform at any time, subject to any separate obligations arising from paid services.

HelloProppy provides a platform for users to discover one another and make introductions. We do not represent Buyers, Tenants, Agents or property owners in transactions solely by providing the Platform.

We do not guarantee users' identity, reliability, qualifications, financial circumstances or intentions, or the accuracy of information they provide. Users are responsible for appropriate checks and professional advice where necessary. We do not guarantee successful introductions or property transactions.

We aim to maintain the Platform but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these Terms affects users' statutory rights.

The HelloProppy name, branding, website design, software and other Platform materials are owned by or licensed to HelloProppy, except user-submitted or third-party content.

Users retain ownership of content they submit, subject to others' rights. By submitting content, users grant HelloProppy a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and process it as reasonably necessary to operate the Platform. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except where continued retention or processing is lawfully necessary.

Users must have the necessary rights to submit any content they publish.

HelloProppy processes personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Our Privacy and Cookies Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, shared, retained and protected, and describes users' rights.

By using the Platform, users acknowledge that personal information will be processed as described in that policy. Where consent is legally required, we will seek it separately.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Platform, services, legal requirements or business operations. The latest version will be published on the Platform with its effective date.

Where changes materially affect users' rights or obligations, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users in advance where appropriate. Continued use after revised Terms take effect may constitute acceptance, subject to applicable law and requirements for express agreement.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
