The house need not be white. But it has to be number 10. With room for a flagpole, a wine cellar (ideally already stocked), and thick enough walls to keep out both draughts and Eurocrats. If money were no object
First, the house would not be in the EU. Obviously. It’d be perched on a rolling English hillside, with sweeping views over the countryside – the kind of view that makes you want to sing Jerusalem before breakfast. Somewhere between Kent and the Cotswolds, naturally. Close enough to pop into the local for a Sunday roast, but far enough away that you don’t have to make small talk with the man who insists oat milk is the future.
